Shelley of this city passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Chance at Danville, Ga. at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. She had been ill several months, but only a few hours before she died was her condition considered critical. She was before her marriage Miss Josie Chance of Danville. Surviving are her husband, G. S. D. Shelley, Macon; and a daughter, Elizabeth Margie Shelley; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Chance, Danville; one brother and three sisters, J. W. Chance of Cochran, Mrs. A. U. Ham, Mrs. C. Arnold, and Miss Jeanie Shelley (should be Chance), all of Danville. She was a member of the Baptist Church and was born in Twiggs County, Feb 1, 1891 (death certificate lists 2-1-1889). The funeral was held at the home of her parents at Danville yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The body will be brought to Macon this morning arriving at 10:30 o'clock and will be taken immediately to the Aiken Cemetery in Houston County.
