The Cairo Messenger March 28, 1947
The two year old daughter of Mr. and MRs. H. R. Merritt died on Friday evening, 
March 21 after being ill with pneumonia for one week.  The funeral was held at 
the Chapel of Bearden Funeral Home at 2:30 PM Saturday with Rev. R. A. Bowen 
officiating.  Internment was at Tired Creek Cemetery.  Her surviviors include 
her parents, one sister, one brother, and her grandpartents, Mrs. John Merritt 
and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Merritt.
