Will of Gabriel Booth I, Gabriel Booth, being of sound mind and memory knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, I therefore resign my soul unto God who gave it and my body to be decently buried in a Christian-like manner. First of all I wish for all my just debts to be paid. 2. I wish for my wife Elizabeth after my death to have my house and plantation and my Mill and Wily and Jane and Liza and Silvy during her life or marriage, and if she marries then to have a child's part and after her death to be divided among my children. 3. I wish for my son Victor E. Booth him to have all the property coming from my estate to him and that none of it is to be traded or sold by him not to be subject to any of his contracts and further I wish for his children to have the land where he now lives herein his full share in my estate. 4. I wish for my son William S. Booth to have his full share of my estate and also wish my daughter Polly Parham to have her equal part of my estate. I also wish for my daughter Catherine Butler herein to have her full share so that George S. Butler is not to have any control of it or not to be subject to any part of his debts and to remain in the hands of my Executor only to go to the use of Catherine and the children. I also wish for my daughter Frances Snellings to have her full share. I also give and bequeath unto my son Nathaniel Booth herein his full share of my estate and not to be subject for any part of his debts but to do to the use of his family. I also give unto my son Absalom Booth herein his full share of my estate so that it shall not be liable for any of his debts. I also give until Lucy Anne Colvard herein her full share and if she dies leaving no heirs then to revert back to my estate. I also give to my son John Booth his full share and a horse to be equal with the rest of my children. I also wish for all of my children to be made my equal in horses, cows, and beds and other things. I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Melissa E. Moon her full share of my estate and if I have not named all of my children for them to come in and have their share which is 10 in no. I also wish at the death of my wife for Silvy not to be sold nor divided but to choose her home among my children and live with who she will. I wish after my death for all the balance of the property that my wife doesn't want to keep to be sold and divided among the children agreeable to my will but she is to keep what she wants to support on during her life or marriage. I also appoint my Son-in-law Isham Parham and my son Wm. S. David Jacob D. Vown (his mark) Additional Comments: Gabriel Booth was born ca 1780 in Amelia Co., VA, son of Nathaniel Wythe Booth and Elizabeth J. Johns. He married on 26 June 1806 in Elbert Co. [Marriage Book L-F, page 28] to Elizabeth "Betsy" Stinchcomb who was born ca 1788 in Amherst Co., VA to Absalom Stinchcomb and Mary Penn. Gabriel is buried in the Booth family cemetery in Elbert Co.
