Fred Walker Jr. 

ALBANY — Fred Walker Jr., 75, of West Broad Ave. died August 10, 2007, at 
Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. 

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church, 214 East 
Oglethorpe Blvd. with interment in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. J.A. Severson, 
pastor and Elder Roy Snead officiating. 

Born February 25, 1932, in Albany, Mr. Walker was a 1950 graduate of Monroe 
High School and a graduate of Albany Area Vocational Technical School where he 
received a certificate in auto mechanics. He was retired civil service, Marine 
Corps Logistics Base. Mr. Walker was also an Army veteran where he served in 
the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 512 and was a 
member of the Ram Rooters at Albany State University. He was of the Baptist 
faith. 

Survivors include his wife, Mary Williams Walker of Albany; one son, Frederick 
J. Walker of Albany; two daughters, Emma L. Walker of Albany and Deidra A. and 
Kenny Furgerson of Saint Petersburg, FL; three grandchildren and one great- 
grandchild. 

The remains of Mr. Walker will be placed in the church for viewing Saturday 
morning from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
