Tatum to John Miller 19 August 1859 Deed Book “D” p. 494 Georgia, Dade County This indenture made this nineteenth day of August, eighteen hundred and fifty- nine between Pearce A. Tatum of the first part and John Miller of the Second part, both of the said State and County Witneseth that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and twenty four dollars hath bargained sold alien conveyed and confirmed by their presents doth bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns all that certain part of fractional lot number three hundred and twenty five (325) in the eleventh (11th) district and fourth (4th) section and that certain part of full lot number one (1) in the twelfth district and fourth section in said county of Dade meted bounded and distinguished as follows (beg) beginning at the North West corner of fraction number three hundred and twenty five(325) aforesaid running one hundred and six holes with the original line to the nine road cornering on a post oak. Thence running south nineteen degrees west eight two poles to a stake thence running East twelve poles ten links cornering on a persimmon bush thence running South three and a half degrees West to a corner on a pine tree thence along the original South boundary to the original South West corner of Lot number one (1) in said Twelfth District thence along the district line to the starting point containing one hundred and twelve acres more or less. To have and to hold the said bargained premises to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever in the simple reserving one half of all mines and minerals. And the said party of the first part the said bargained premises unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns sell forever warrant and defense against his own and the claims of all other persons. In witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto let his hand to deal the day (?) and year first above written. P.A. Tatum (seal) Registered Aug. 24th 1859 In the presence of James A. Nesbet. Test. Solomen Crop J. I. C. Additional Comments: John Miller b. 1803 TN, (son of James SC), and his wife, Nancy Wilson Miller b. 1806 TN, (daughter of Joseph Wilson) removed to Dade County, GA ca. 1835. They locatd on a farm that is today called , "The Lambeth Place." The Miller Cemetery was once part of that property. Their daughter, Elizabeth Miller Tatum, is buried in the cemetery.
