April 26, 1901 Young corn and other tender plants have a frostbitten appearance since the late cold snap, and we fear that fruit is also injured. Prof. Hodnett will close the spring term of his school on Monday evening next with an entertainment. An interesting programme is being arranged. Rev. H. R. Davies is in Macon this week. Mrs. Lester is ill this week. Tax Receiver Matthews has been somewhat worsted by the physical exertion rendered necessary by his official rounds. Our farmers are pushing ahead with their work. Mr. J. J. Reese, of Newnan, spent a night with the family of his uncle this week. Chickens are dying of cholera in this community, and no remedy has been found thus far that will check the ravages of this disease. R. A. T.
