NEWSPAPER Issue of Friday, OCTOBER 4, 1878 
 
We regret to learn from The Newnan Herald that Dr. J.W. Wiley is dead. He died 
at his home in Palmetto last Friday morning at about 10 o'clock and was buried 
at Newnan, Saturday evening. Dr. W. was one of those genial, clever gentlemen, 
whose heart was free from guile. He had many friends wherever he was known. 
Peace to his ashes.
