Funeral services were held at 11 A.M., Thursday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Cross Section, Lot 42 C space 1. The Rev. Sam Waldron officiated. The family met friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home -Mr. Spann, son of the late James Frank and Allie Mae Westberry Spann, was born in Lake City, FL on March 12, 1942 and had lived in Macon since 1967. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church and the Dove Sunday School Class. Mr. Spann was a service technician with Wilson Typewriter Co. for twenty years and with the Houston County Board of Education for twelve years. He was the grandfather of the late Tabitha Reese who died in 1986. -Survivors include his wife, Helen Thomas Spann of Macon; two daughters, Pam (B.J.) Ingram of Warner Robins and Patricia Spann of Byromville; two grandsons, Gary Ingram of Warner Robins and Josh Reese of St. Augustine, FL; four great grandchildren; his sister, Charlotte Spann Trowell of Lake City, FL and four nieces, two nephews. -Visit www.mem.com to express tributes. -Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue had charge of arrangement.
