Dear Sir: Yours of 21st inst to hand note that you say that my application for pension stated my company was disbanded before war closed which is certainly a misunderstanding some way. We were disbanded or left camp some weeks before war closed, but we met for roll call every Monday morning and a detachment of 12 or 15 men was sent out on picket till they were relieved by the detachment that followed the next Monday, which service was continued till war closed. Now will you please kindly inform and upon what ground my claim Page 021 was turned down. I have never had any information from the Board as to their action on my claim. I know that J. L. I hope that the Board will see that they have not given me what I was entitled to under the former law and will yet rescind their action and give me what I was entitled to have up to the first of July last.
