(Oliva) Anderson, 89, of Windsor Locks, wife of the late Robert S. Anderson Jr., died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at the Kettlebrook Health Care Center. Nellie was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Joseph and Pasqualina (Sacci) Oliva, and was a lifelong resident of the community. Nellie was an avid Red Sox fan and bingo player. She is survived by a son, Robert S. Anderson III, and his wife, Mary Anne, of Windsor Locks; three granddaughters whom she loved so much, Nicole Saavedra and her husband, Orlando, of Windsor Locks, Jodi Anderson of Bennington, VT, and Robin Anderson of Windsor Locks; her great grandson, Trey Saavedra, whom she adored; a brother, Frank Oliva; and a sister, Anna Calsetta, both of Windsor Locks. She was predeceased by four brothers, Peter, Louis, Lawrence, and William Oliva; and four sisters, Cornelia Gragnolati, Josephine Rachele, Rose Walters, and Carolina Oliva. Nellie's family wants to extend their sincere thanks to Kettlebrook and the staff on 3 North for the loving care extended to Nellie during her stay with them. Relatives and friends will gather Saturday, March 15, at 10:15 a.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks for a procession to St. Mary Church for a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Friday, March 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home.
