Obit - Lambert, Gertrude I (Skinner); Montezuma County, Colorado http://files.usgwarchives.org/co/montezuma/obits/lambrtgi.txt Donated by "kathy maez" Date: Monday, April 16, 2001 The Mancos Times-Tribune April 1931 Mrs. Lambert Died At Cortez Hospital Interment in Pinewood Cemetery Monday P.M. 57 Years Old Mrs. Gertrude Isabel Lambert died at the Johnson hospital in Cortez on Thursday of last week (April 9, 1931) at 11:45 p.m. Mrs Lambert had been staying at the Harry Rogers home at Arriola for a time previous to her being taken to the hospital. Mrs. Lambert's maiden name was Skinner, and she was 57 years of age at the time of her death. She was born at Rawlins Wyoming. The deceased came to Denver when a girl and spent most of her life in Colorado. While in Denver she met and married W.H. Lambert, who preceded her in death seven years ago. She and her husband came to Mancos country in 1905, where they resided most of the time until her husband's death. The deceased is survived by a sister, Mrs. Sadie Rapp, Athol, Kansas, and two brothers, John Skinner of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Charles Skinner of McPherson, Kansas. She also had four half sisters and a half brother who are still living. They are Mrs. Mabel Vanderlin, of Mancos, Colo., Ruth Pasley, Meeker, Colo., Ada Aul, Escondido, Calif., Edna Jones, Falfa, Colo. and Mamie Lambert, Saguache, Colo. and Lloyd Skinner, Ramona, Colo. Mrs. Vanderlin and Mrs. Jeanie Jones were the only relatives, besides the Vanderlin children that were able to be present at the time of the funeral. Funeral ceremonies were held Monday afternoon at the Ertel Mortuary in Mancos and Rev. L.W. Gunby of the M.E. church conducted the services.
