Joe Ponce Acosta, 85, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2004 in Hayward, CA. 
He was born February 17, 1919 in Oklahoma. He was a retired truck driver. 
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jessie Cervantes Acosta. He 
was a very kind, generous man who loved his family. He will be greatly missed 
by all his family and friends.
Survived by daughters, Corina Escobar, Rebecca Acosta, Elizabeth Hands, Mary 
Howeth, Connie Poynter; 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth Alton, Kathy Anderson, Bill 
Hernandez, Tim Poynter, John Poynter, Michael Poynter, Justina Rueda, Marianna 
Acosta, Erik Lindeman, Joy Lindeman; 6 great- grandchildren. Info: 209-463-6914.
