Mrs Barker came to her daughter about two weeks ago, suffering from an attack of la grippe, from which she failed to rally. Later pneumonia set in resulting in her decease. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. De Rood of this city; Mrs Sarah M Burnes, of Azusa; Mrs Florence Casey of Covina; and one son, Mr C.D. Barker; and many other friends to mourn her loss. Her husband and five children have gone on before. Mrs Barker was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in Azusa. She is one of those of whom it may appropriately be said "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, yea, saith the spirit that they may rest from their labors and the works do follow them." The funeral was held in the Methodist church; intermaent in the Oakdale cemetery (Glendora, California).
