Frank P. Fairchild obit Yavapai Co. AZ Submitted by Carol Powell Rites Held For Ex-Flag Man Funeral services for a former Flagstaff resident were conducted Monday at Mortensen Kingsley Mortuary in Phoenix. The rites were for Frank P. Fairchild, 73, who died Thursday at his Phoenix home as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Fairchild who was born in Ft. Davis, TX, on Oct. 6, 1884, came to Arizona at the age of three and had lived here since. He resided for a number of years in Flagstaff, until 1928. As a young man he worked as a cowhand for the CO Bar Ranch near here, and later, he was a deputy under Coconino Sheriff Tom Pulliam and Bill Dickinson. Mr. Fairchild also was a state penitentiary guard at Florence for two years and spent 15 years as a captain of outside guards at the Inspiration Copper Mine where he lived until a year ago, moving to Phoenix. He had a daugther, Grace Gilmore at the time of his death he had two grandchildren, Linda and Allan Gilmore.
