GEORGE C. JACKSON History of Arizona, page 518 George C. Jackson is one of Winslow's most capable and dependable automobile mechanics and since entering the garage business on his own account has met with a well merited measure of success. He was born in Bradford, McKean County, Pennsylvania on the 15th day of January 1884 and is a son of William M. and Mary (Turner) Jackson. His father, who is a successful oil producer is still residing in Bradford. Mr. Jackson attended the public schools of Bradford, graduating from high school in 1900, after which he learned the trade of a machinist, serving his apprenticeship in the shop of the Bovard and Sefang Manufacturing Company of Bradford. He remained in the Pennsylvania oil regions until 1916, when he came to Winslow, Arizona and for a number of years was employed as an automobile mechanic. In 1926 he opened a shop of his own and during the subsequent time, he has drawn a representative trade for he had won a wide reputation as a capable and reliable man. On September 23, 1905 Mr. Jackson married Helen J. Foster of Bradford Pennsylvania and they are the parents of a son, George W.
