Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, May 25, 1905

Thomas Griffith Dead.
Mr. Thomas Griffith died near Schuster on the 16th day of April, 1905. 
He was born in Mecklenburg County, N. C., on June 16th 1833. In early 
life he joined the Baptist Church and was a faithful member and 
consistent worker for the cause until his death. As husband, father 
and friend he was ever kind and considerate. His illness was 
contracted in 1862 and not withstanding the fact that he was a great 
sufferer. He was always patient and never murmured and trusted ever 
the goodness and wisdom of his God. Never questioning his plans, or 
complaining of his affliction, knowing that he was safe, when he 
resigned himself completely to the care and keeping of him who mark's 
the sparrow's fall.
