A number of dressing rooms have been built, bathing suits supplied, and soon several batteaus will be procured. On the east side a concrete wall has been built around the water’s edge, and seats will be built in tiers up the shaded hillside while a platform for speakers will be built over the waters facing this natural amphitheatre. Shade trees will be set out on the grounds approaching the lake. Drives and walk ways will in time be constructed among these. Meanwhile the driveway around the lake is being widened. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 23 June 1915, p.1] ---------- USSERY Lake was a popular local entertainment spot.
