B. & A. ---------------------------- Beginning Sunday, May 30th, the A. B. & A. [Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic] Railroad will put in operation a new passenger schedule. Lineville [Clay County] will be made the turning point instead of Roanoke. [Train] No. 22 will leave Lineville at 6, a.m., eastbound, leaving Roanoke at 7:30, arriving at Manchester [Georgia] 10:10. The afternoon train eastbound will come through from Birmingham, passing through Roanoke at 1:45, p.m. No. 26 will pass Roanoke at 12:45 p.m., going through to Birmingham, arriving at 6:25. No. 21 passes this point at 6:30, p.m., going to Lineville. This service gives Roanoke a better outlet eastward, and also better facilities for securing local trade from the westward. There is a loop of one hour for trade from the east. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 19 May 1915, p.1]
