Stewart Robert C. Stewart died on Tuesday at the home of his father, Mr. A.M. Stewart, two miles from town, aged twenty eight years. Mr. Stewart was a railroad man for a number of years, running on some of the principal roads of the state and the disease of which he died probably resulted from exposure in his vocation. Something like a year ago he returned to his father’s home with the seeds of consumption planted in his system, and thence forward was a constant sufferer until death brought relief. He was buried at Carmel on Thursday, with funeral obsequies conducted by Rev. P.H. Brewster, of the Methodist church. Mr. Stewart was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. His brother, Armstrong, it will be remembered, who was also a railroad man, was murdered at Gadsden some two years ago. The bereaved family have the sincerest condolence of the entire community.
