Wiley Garnett Succumbs- One of Piedmont's Oldest Citizens Buried in Carmel June 24 George Wiley GARNETT, died june 23, at 10:30 a.m. at his home in Piedmont after an illness that had kept him confined to his bed for several years. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence the Rev. W. D. Barnes officiating. Interment was in Carnel Cemetery. Ursey's of Piedmont directing. Pallbearers were Jesse P. Haslam, Dewey Fagan, T. H.L Formmby, T. Ben kerr, L. J. DeFreese and A. F. McAbee. Mr Garnett is survived by his wife only. Born and reared in Piedmont (then Cross Plains) he left here when a youth, but returned to Piedmont many years ago from Mississippi. He was one of the oldest citizens of this community if not the oldest. Additional Comments: George Wiley Garnett was the son of George Beverly and Clarissa White Garnett. George was married to Margaret Anna Louisa WHITE- Daughter of Thomas Noel White and Mary Amberson. Clarissa White Garnett was Thomas Noel White's Aunt.
