Elizabeth Ann Stokes was married to John Pemberton De Jarnette on May 25, 1825, Montgomery Couney Marriage Book C., page 390. John P. was the son of Mumford and Frances Hannah Pickett DeJarnett. He was born in Wadesboro, Anson Co., NC. Their children were: 1. Joseph Pickett DeJarnette, b. Mar. 15, 1826, d. May 6, 1853, buried in the DeJarnette Cemetery m. Mary E. Gholson on December 28, 1843 in Autauga Co. 2. Frances Eliza DeJarnette, b. May 2, 1828, d. January 23, 1849 in New Orleans. LA m. Hugh M. Farrior on December 22, 1847 in Autauga Co. 3.
